We are now in Nelson for a rest and refill after a week cruising the coast of Abel Tasman national park. Quite nice (French way to saying: AMAZING) to see the park from the sea, 5 years after walking the coastal track! The weather was amazing. We swam (including at night in sparkly bio luminescent water !!), we kayaked, we SUP yoga-ed (some of us), we read and slept. Life made easy as :)

Oh, and we also watched the weather forecast. Watching it closely as the plan is still to head up North and round North and Reinga Capes.

But we are stuck because of cyclone OMA.

There is a possibility that this cyclone OMA will indeed arrive in New Zealand (picture as per forecast for next Friday). The last thing we want of course is to be sailing while this thing has any kind of influence on the weather in NZ. And while it is north of New Caledonia at the moment, cyclones have long long arms... It could be quick before it draws air to it, creating strong easterlies at Noth cape and preventing us to round up the cape while approaching us from the other side... That may not be that probable, but well, safety first and no point taking risks.

So, another week in the tasman bay.

We head back out tomorrow towards D'Urville Island, Greville harbour first, which we heard good of!

Cheers
